Eric
Eric Scheider, cellist, is an avid chamber musician, performing regularly around Western North Carolina. This season, he is playing in performances with the orchestras in Asheville and Spartanburg (SC), and is appearing with many other regional ensembles in musical theater and orchestral productions. Eric is the conductor (and occasional arranger) for the Jubilee! Community Summer Orchestra, a fun group presenting two eclectic concerts each summer. In addition to concertizing, Eric is the Director of the Echo Earl Music Festival, presenting an annual festival of medieval, renaissance, and baroque music, and outreach events throughout the year. Eric's primary teachers were Susan Krystaf and Robert Carapetyan, both of Buffalo, NY. While studying for a Bachelor degree in Philosophy at the University of Rochester, he studied cello with Christopher Hutton and Philip von Maltzahn at the Eastman School of Music, and also voice and chamber music under a variety of coaches. .
